DPAS Driver Performance Anslysis-driver training and evaluation
Operating a motor vehicle demands specialized knowledge and skills. The Driver Performance Analysis System (DPAS) is intended to assess and analyze an individual's traffic related knowledge and skills.

Even though the ability to control the speed and direction of a motor vehicle is an important driving skill, drivers should also be able to quickly and accurately compile and process related driver and traffic information if he or she is to safely and efficiently utilize the nation's roads and highways.

DPAS is a two-phase driver performance analysis program. The first phase of DPAS is a video oriented test containing real world driving scenes. The second phase consists of a computer analysis of the test.

DPAS is a crash prevention instrument. Research has proven that drivers with the ability to quickly and accurately compile and process crucial traffic and driver information have less motor vehicle crashes than drivers that lack these abilities.

DPAS measures a driver's skills in compiling and analyzing the important traffic information that is necessary for safe and efficient motor vehicle operation. DPAS also generates statistical profiles of an individual's strengths and weaknesses as a driver.

The video testing portion of DPAS takes 40 minutes to administer. The driver's test is scored on the USC computer, and a Test Analysis Report is provided to the company that administers the test.
